The polka dot plant (Hypoestes Phyllostachya) is a very eye-catching plant with beautiful leaves that are splotched with white, pink, red and green. A great plant for planting in terrariums and adding some color to your collection!
Care tip:
If your polka dot plant becomes too leggy, you can pinch back the stems for a more bushier looking plant. Cut just above a set of leaves. As a good rule of thumb , don’t cut back more than a 1/3 of your plant at a time since this can cause shock in the plant.
Place in bright, indirect light. If the plant receives too little light, it can become very leggy and the stems will get spindly. An eastern or northern facing window is best for the polka dot plant.
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Make sure to fully saturate the soil until water is dripping out the bottom of the pot.
