Poinsettias are very popular plants during the holiday season, but you can also have them as an indoor houseplant year round! Poinsettias have very showy bracts (modified leaves) that range from reds, whites, pinks, and creams. The actual flowers are the yellow tiny clusters in the middle of the showy bracts.
Care tips:
Water: When the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Water thoroughly, making sure to fully saturate the soil until water starts dripping out the bottom of the pot.
Light: Bright, diffused sunlight. A western or pulled a few feet back from a southern facing window.
Temperature: Keep poinsettias indoors, temps below 50 degrees will harm and potentially kill the plant. Be sure to not place it near cold drafts, heaters, or fireplaces.
